Since Summer of 2021 Dr. Jeff Ford has been a Team-based Inquiry Learning fellow at the NSF-funded TBIL institute at University of South Alabama. This is a group of faculty who work to write open-source textbooks using the TBIL pedagogy and conduct research on the effectiveness of this teaching method, In Summer 2023 Dr. Ford attended the Pretext-Runsestone Open Source Ecosystem (PROSE) consortium meeting at University of South Alabama. PROSE brings together textbook authors, programmers, librarians, and non-profit textbook publishers to ensure all of the resources needed to write high quality open-source books are shared equitably.
