How did the MCS department help you get where you are today?

A solid background in applied mathematics and programming.

What is your favorite memory or memories of the MCS department?

Jeff Rosoff decided to start an independent study class in algebraic geometry for three students, and taking that class was an amazing intellectual tour de force for us. Jeff’s home-made corn beef was equally amazing.

Anything else you would like to add or mention?

I remember my time at Gustavus very fondly; it was just a fantastic combination of great professors and fun classmates. In general, I think the faculty provides tremendous support for independent study and research, and lays the groundwork for many students to pursue a career in both the industry and academia.
