MCS Alumni Profile: Chris Weber Posted on March 9th, 2016 by

profileChris Weber graduated from Gustavus in 2001 with a degree in Computer Science.

Where are you currently working and what are you doing?

I am currently working at the Nerdery as a Software Engineer.

How did the MCS department help you get where you are today?

Well I got my bachelor’s degree from Gustavus which was really important in getting my first job. I really enjoyed the architectual classes I had. I liked the math too, even if it didn’t actually turn out to be important in anything I’m doing now.

What is your favorite memory of the MCS department?

Helping organize MCS events while I was Co-Ppresident of the MCS club. Getting together with others to work on complex problems. The discussions, debates, and evolving our knowledge.

Anything else you would like to add or mention?

I switched to MCS in my junior year. Being able to talk to the professors and students helped me through a very difficult part of my life. I am very happy with the challenges of the work I am doing now.  I am very thankful for the help and guidance I received while in the MCS department at Gustavus.

Thanks for the update Chris.  It’s good to hear from you.
