The deparment is saddened by the death of David Charles Rosoff, son of math professor Jeff Rosoff, on Saturday, July 17, 2004 as a result of head injuries sustained in an automobile accident. What follows is the tribute the family published.
Born on September 9, 1985, David graduated with highest honors from St. Peter High School this past June, and had planned on attending Macalester College starting in September. He was an active member of the National Honor Society, a regular writer for the school newspaper, and editor-in-chief of the SPHS yearbook. He attended Concordia Language Village in French for several years, and worked as a staff member there during the summer of 2002.
During his 18 years David traveled widely, and lived for a year in Berkeley, CA and Christchurch/Dunedin, New Zealand. He enjoyed music, games, his cats, and especially stimulating conversation with his family and numerous friends. David will be sorely missed for his kindness, his sweetness and his wonderful sense of humour.
David is survived by his father, Jeff Rosoff and stepmother Colleen Jacks of St. Peter, MN. Other survivors include his grandparents Minnie Waldorf of Peru, IL, and Harod and Berniece Rosoff of Scottsdale, AZ. Aunts and uncles include Jim and Anne Waldorf of Bloomington, IL, David and Peggy Waldorf of Peru, IL, Leslie Rosoff of Scottsdale, AZ and Douglas Rosoff of Ukiah, CA. He is also survived by cousins Pete, Joey, Elizabeth, Emily and Genny.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Rosoff and his grandfather, Richard Waldorf.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23 at Christ Chapel on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus. Internment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. St. Peter Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
