Corey Ervin Prize for Outstanding Service Posted on April 4th, 2007 by

The recipient of the 2006-2007 award is Guy Davis, senior mathematics major. In presenting this award, the department recognizes Guy’s work as a tutor and grader in the MCS Department over the past two years, his leadership and service in the Collegiate Fellow program, the Swing Club, and one-time opportunities such as volunteer yard work. The Corey Ervin Prize is named for former mathematics major Corey Ervin, who died in an automobile accident in the fall of 1998. Corey’s family contributed to a memorial fund in his honor and the MCS Department has chosen to remember Corey by presenting an annual prize to the student in the department who has gone “above and beyond” the normal activities of study and homework to contribute in a significant way to the mission of the department.
