MCS Alumni Sweep First Decade Awards Posted on February 20th, 2006 by

As happens each year, the Gustavus Alumni Association is recognizing two members of the graduating class ten years ago (the class of 1996, in this case) with the “First Decade Award” for the significance of their accomplishments within their first decade since graduation. This year, something a bit unusual happened: both award recipients majored in the MCS department.

Math major Rebecca Konrad served in the Peace Corps, worked a little while in the actuarial field, then went to the University of Minnesota for an MBA, and is now serving with distinction at the World Bank.

Computer science major Milo Martin received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin and is now on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania. He is known for his contributions to the design and analysis of multiprocessor systems.

Congratulations Rebecca and Milo!
