Gusties Compete in Programming Contest Posted on November 6th, 2005 by

On Saturday, November 5, Gustavus students Justin Delegard, Dan Treiman, and Alex Wauck competed in the ACM North Central North America Regional Programming Contest. The regional contest spans seven US states and one and a half Canadian provinces, and this year included 186 teams. Teams participate from local satellite sites; the Gustavus team was one of 7 participating at the Carleton College site. Unofficial results (pending appeals) show the Gustavus team as having the third highest score of the 7 at its site, and the 33rd highest in the overall region of 186 teams. The contest problems were quite challenging; the students are to be commended not only for solving some of them, but also for finding enjoyment in working on problems of this difficulty.
