The students in the robotics workshop course have been hard at work this J-Term and they are finally seeing the fruits of their labor.  They have spent the past three weeks learning about robotics, computer programming, wiring, and have designed, built, tested, and re-tested their designs and are currently working out any last minute bugs in hopes of becoming the 2011 RoboPong Champion.

What is RoboPong you may ask?  In RoboPong, two robots are placed on a table along with several ping-pong balls.  The robot that pushes the most ping-pong balls to their opponent’s side  is the winner.  The winners then battle against each other to determine the overall champion.

Want to watch?  Come and see the six robots designed by students in the J-Term Robotics Workshop course compete in a fast-paced contest of RoboPong in Wallenberg Auditorium on Thursday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. Lego robots will battle to push as many ping-pong balls as possible to their opponent’s side within 60 seconds. Come and cheer on these digital marvels.
