Math Careers Night with Alumni Posted on October 23rd, 2013 by

The Math Career Night is this Tuesday, Oct. 29th from 5:30-7:30 in the third floor Olin lobby! Enjoy free pizza and pop while meeting alumni who majored in Math or who have careers in math. Take this opportunity to get a feel for what math-related careers are out there after graduation and get advice from people who have experience getting and working at these kind of jobs! You do NOT have to be a Math major to attend.

We’ll begin with a short chat over pizza and then move to one of the classrooms for an informal Q & A session – feel free to bring questions to ask. There will be 5 alumni there: Scott Davis ’97, Matthew Pettis ’94, Kristen Campbell ’13, Andrew Swan ’13, and Bryan Bjork ’13. Come learn about how each of them got to where they are now, how they made their decision, and advice they have for college students!

This event, sponsored by the MCS Club, is the second career night of the semester. An October 8th event focused on computing careers with Dave Carl ’91, Cory Ruegg ’12, Jonathan Dexter ’08, and Alex Wauck ’09. A third event will focus on Math Education.
